‘The ABC Nativity’ comes with TWO flexible, editable scripts, and you get both: a rhyming play script for older children, and a simple rhyming narrated script for younger children (or older ones on a tight rehearsal schedule).

There are eight easy songs, all based on familiar tunes, so they’re quick to learn, with vocal and backing tracks included. The following cast list is for the PLAY SCRIPT version. (There is no cast list for the SIMPLE narrated version which is designed to be simply read out with no acting involved).

  • Narrators:  Roughly 40 lines for narrators, divided into around 10 passages. Have as few or as many narrators as you want.
  • Mary: Has 11 lines and one optional solo.
  • Joseph: Has 7 lines
  • Angels: In addition to a ‘choir’ of angels who can sing two songs, there are a few spoken lines for one or two angels.
  • Three Wise Men & Four Shepherds: One or two lines each.
  • Innkeeper: There are just 2 lines for the innkeeper. Alternatively, you could have the “innkeeper and his wife,” with one line each.
  • Optional Extras: The guidance that accompanies your purchase provides ideas for several extra non-speaking roles.

Any number of children from 2 to 100+, depending on the content you use.

Stick exactly to either script and the show runs for about 20-25 minutes. Too long or too short? The suggestions in your purchase help you easily trim or stretch it by 10-15 minutes either way.

We recommend at least two days of rehearsal time. Every group is different, though, so please listen to the songs and look through the material before deciding how much time your pupils will need.

SO MUCH TIME SAVED

"Ok. I must admit that was great. When I was first passed the details about the Abc nativity by a fellow teacher, I thought it would be a bit babyish for our 5-7's, but it was actually perfect for what we needed.
