The two included scripts are: (1) The ‘Full Script’: With speaking parts for any number of children between 10 and 100+ (2) The ‘Simple Script’: A narrators only version of the script which can easily be read by an adult, while the children sing or dance to the songs. Very flexible, with two editable scripts you can perform this production with any number of children from 10 to 100+.

Very flexible. Depending on which of the two included scripts you use, the approximate running time is 10-20 minutes. However, this time span can easily be shortened or lengthened significantly. Suggestions for how to do this are included in the detailed ‘Production Notes’ which you find contained within your purchase.

Short on rehearsal time? No problem, we know from experience that it’s possible to rehearse the simple version of this play in a few days. What’s the secret? During the show, read from the simple script version, so that no one has any lines to learn. As for the songs, simply divide them up! Don’t get ALL the children to learn ALL the songs, instead share them between children, classes or year groups, so that no one has more than 2 or 3 songs to remember. If you follow this advice to the letter, you may even be able to rehearse this show in just a day!

“Thank you for producing Our First Spring. We used it with our whole early years and infant departments combined (130 children) but we only made three small changes. Firstly we changed the title to 'Spring Chick's Egg-cellent Easter'. Secondly we had half a dozen spring-chicks and dozens of every other animal mentioned in the script, rather than just one of each. And thirdly we added a few extra of our own assembly songs so we had 10 songs in total. The whole performance was a great success and seeing over a hundred small children dressed in your clever animal masks was such a sweet thing to see. Every child loved taking part, no matter what age they were and the parents were amazed. I'm certain that next year we'll be using one of your 'Our First Easter' cds in a similar way.”

PERFECT

"We don't usually do any type of performance at Easter time, but having loved using Our First Nativity (One & Two) and Our First Christmas Play, we couldn't resist having a go at Our First Spring. It was very simple to put together and the children responded excellently. We always do a Springtime topic at this time of year anyway, and this just fitted in perfectly. Highly recommended."
