C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S Spells Christmas (junior version, ages 7-11) is one of our most popular nativity plays, and has even been broadcast on national radio in the UK! This simple-to-use acrostic nativity has nine superb songs in a huge range of styles – rock, pop, mambo and even a bit of ‘Nessun Dorma’. They’re linked by a choice of two completely different scripts, and you get both:

(1) The ‘Simple Script’ is a time-saving telling of the nativity story you just can’t go wrong with. C is for ‘Can You Hear The Sound Of Christmas’, H is for ‘Heavenly News’, R is for ‘Rocking & Rolling To Bethlehem’… you get the idea! Simple narrated parts link the songs, with optional solos for all the main characters.

(2) The ‘Full Play Script’ follows a time-travelling TV news station reporting on the nativity, with hilarious results – including the ‘Nazareth to Bethlehem Donkey Derby’, three crazy kings doing magic tricks and the ‘3 Tenor Shepherds’ on ‘Bethlehem’s Got Talent’! Very flexible! With two editable scripts and plenty of optional speaking, acting and singing parts, you can perform it with just a few children or a cast of well over a hundred.

Around 40-50 minutes, depending on which script you use – and it’s easy to make it a lot shorter or longer. The detailed ‘Production Notes’ in your purchase show you how.

We recommend at least three days of rehearsal time. Every group is different, though, so please listen to the songs and look through the material before deciding how much time your pupils will need.
