There are two innkeepers in Bethlehem: the lovely Mr Inn and the mean Mr Out! When Bethlehem’s town council decides one of their inns must be flattened to make way for a brand-new ‘Multi-Storey Camel Park’, can our hero Mr Inn save his precious inn from the scheming Mr Out? And as if poor Mr Inn hasn’t got enough on his mind, a young couple called Mary and Joseph turn up with a baby on the way – followed by some silly shepherds and joking kings! What’s an innkeeper to do?

All three scripts are very flexible and work with any number of children, from just a few to 100+.

Very flexible! Your show can run for anything from 25 to 50 minutes, depending on which script you use and how many songs you perform.

We recommend at least three days of rehearsal time. Every group is different, though, so please listen to the songs and look through the material before deciding how much time your pupils will need.

"Thank you for your wonderful show Keeping Mr Inn. I've produced lots of Christmas performances over the last two decades and this has to be one of the best I've found from any company. I love the fact that every actor has great lines to say with laughs all round. and there are still more than enough additional narration roles so that everyone can have at least one line to read out. But speaking as a musician, I think the one thing I appreciated the most was that this felt like a genuine musical with excellent song writing. With other children's nativities I've done in the past it's sometimes felt that the songs have just been thrown together in a disjointed way. But with Mr Inn, all the songs clearly have a purpose in telling the story and driving the plot forward, while still being so much fun. The children especially loved all the tongue-twisting lyrics. Keeping Mr Inn in the Inn has been a joy to produce in our school and I'll look forward to using it again in several years’ time." 😃

It was probably the easiest-to-use play I've ever come across. The script was delightfully simple to stage and the children loved the tongue-twisting songs. I thought at first that some of the youngest children might get a bit confused, but they just excelled in their singing, mainly due to the fact that the songs are so catchy and full of fun. The Power point scenery was great too. Loved the multi-storey camel park and so did the audiences!"
