WHAT’S INCLUDED?
There are TWO rhyming scripts that can be used to stage this simple show. Both scripts are included in your purchase:

(1) The PLAY Script is a fun-filled script with plenty of acting / speaking parts.

(2) The NARRATED Script presents the same material, but is told entirely through narrators.

Along with the two scripts you will receive vocal tracks and backing tracks, lyric videos, PowerPoints, detailed staging advice and more. Everything you need for a straightforward, time-saving festive performance.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. Both scripts are written from the point of view of UK based schoolchildren, looking at Christmas traditions around the rest of the world. We’ve also seen the scripts work well for schools located in the USA, Canada and Ireland with very few alterations necessary for those nations. However, if you are located anywhere else in the world, then the only way the scripts will truly work for you is if you make substantial changes to them, so that the performance still makes sense for your location.

2. The fifth song from this publication is ‘Christmas in Russia’, which was created long before the current Russian invasion of Ukraine. This song hasn’t been included in the song sample list on this webpage, but it is still included in the full publication and will therefore be included in your purchase. You are free to either include it in your performance, or omit it. The choice is yours.

This musical can be performed with any number of cast members, from 2 to 200+. Depending on the content used.

Running Time

If you stick exactly to either script then the running time will be around 40 minutes.
However, ideas are included (in the material that you will receive) to allow you to reduce or increase the running time significantly.

Rehearsal Time

We believe that this musical needs a minimum 1 week of rehearsal time. Please note, this is not a guarantee. Please listen to the songs and view the material before deciding how much rehearsal time your pupils will require.

Is It Religious?

The majority of this play is not religious at all. However, the biblical nativity story is referenced in several ways during the final few pages of both scripts. You are free to cut out these references if you wish.
