‘Cool Carols’ comes with two easy-to-use scripts, and you get both. Each one tells the same simple, faithful version of the biblical nativity story, with rhyming verse, traditional carols set to modern music, and optional Bible readings.

The only difference is style: the first is a play script with simple acting roles and lines for all the main nativity characters; the second is a straightforward narrated version, with narrators’ parts only.

Stick exactly to the script and the show runs for about 40 minutes. You can easily trim or stretch it by 20-30 minutes either way with the editable scripts – the detailed ‘Production Notes’ in your purchase show you how.

We recommend at least one day of rehearsal time. Every group is different, though, so please listen to the songs and look through the material before deciding how much time your pupils will need.

"A fool proof nativity play that you can't go wrong with. We performed the full play script with the whole school. We even included the nursery children dressed as stable animals singing away in a manger. So, so cute! The whole thing was very straightforward. The only minor issue was that some of the children (and staff) found some of the archaic language used in some of the old carols slightly challenging! But we looked at it as a learning opportunity to talk about language and how people's use of language changes over time. In the end it went down a treat and we will certainly use Cool carols again in the future."
