Learn2soar School Music Workshops

You may have noticed that we offer very popular ‘Music Man‘ and ‘Pop Star‘ music workshops to UK-based Primary Schools and Pre-Schools. However, did you know that we offer several other unique music workshops, projects and services? We’ve recently updated our Music Workshop Pages and added a new Special Projects page, where you will find full details. Here are some of the highlights…

1. ‘Pop Star’ & ‘Music Man’ MIX

Our most requested workshop. A mixture of our two most successful music workshops. The most common request is for 2 or 3 hours of Pop Star (songwriting & recording) with ages 7-11, followed by a Music Man session (fun singing & instruments) with Ages 2-6.

2. Professional Songwriter Q&A

Our main composer / managing director Stuart Ross is available to visit your school for a fun Q&A session.  He has used these sessions to inspire pupils, discuss how he became a professional songwriter and show how he writes a song or musical.

3. Pop Star Multi-School Concert

Several years ago the Arts Council provided funding for Learn2soar Music Workshops to provide 30 Pop Star workshop days in and around Greater Manchester. Participating schools were then invited to perform at The Trafford Centre to an audience of several thousand people. If schools in your area want to join for a similar experience, we’ll be happy to work with you.

4. Create Your Own Musical

A few years ago, five schools in the West Midlands banded together to work with Learn2soar’s main composer Stuart Ross, to jointly write and perform a musical! If you would like to undertake a similar project, please contact us.

5. Whole School CD

We have often been asked to work with every class in a school to create a whole school CD. Usually, to celebrate something important like a centenary celebration or the retirement of a long-serving headteacher. If you would like us to create a whole school CD for you then contact us.

6. National Conference / Special Needs Work

We have regularly attended an annual conference in support of the charity REACH, which supports children with a hand or arm deficiency. This has involved working with up to 60 children at a time, providing a fun musical experience and preparing them for an evening performance in front of their parents and other conference members. If you would like our team to work at your conference or to provide music workshops with special needs children in your setting, then contact us to discuss your needs.

7. Ceremony Performances

We have worked at several ceremonies like the opening of ‘The Imperial War Museum North’ and ‘The Lowry Designer Outlet’. In each case our main composer Stuart Ross worked in collaboration with several local schools to produce a children’s choir, composing music and performing at the ceremony. Stuart has also undertaken similar work for ITV, Selfridge and Sure Start amongst others.

8. Songwriting Workshops, Talks, Tutorials, Courses

Our main composer Stuart Ross has often been asked to share his experience and knowledge of the art of songwriting, not just with children but also with young people, teenagers and adults, through music workshops, tutorials and courses. If you would like Stuart to talk about the art of songwriting at your school, church, conference or event, then contact us for a quote and to discuss your needs.

9. CD Production Services

Over the years we have used our skills, experience and equipment to offer various CD Production Services for a range of clients. This has included:

  • Recording Services
  • Mixing & Mastering
  • CD Design, Printing and Duplication
