Our World War II Children’s Musical ‘Will Santa Get Shot Down’ has been updated for 2023. What’s new? Updated script, new artwork, updated staging advice with new ideas, new PowerPoint scenery and new PowerPoint lyrics.
‘Will Santa Get Shot Down’ is an uplifting Christmas musical that will make you laugh out loud and also bring a tear to the eye. Set in England on Christmas Eve 1940, Geoff and his family are about to spend what should be the most magical night of the year… in a cold, wet air-raid shelter! Based on a true story, this Christmas musical is perfect for children who are studying the history topic of life during WWII.
Please Note: This musical has nothing to do with the story of Santa, and there is definitely NO guns, or shooting of any kind! A genuine worry for children in 1940!

‘Sponsor Your Nativity’ – The easy way to pay for your Christmas Performance
We Can’t Afford It!
With school budgets squeezed tighter than ever, here’s an easy way to buy a school nativity… Don’t! Instead, let someone else buy it for you. Get a company to sponsor your nativity!
We’ve really noticed a change this year. More and more schools are jumping on the bandwagon of saving money by turning to sponsorship. We get it. Over and over again, we’re hearing the same thing from customers around the world, but particularly here in the UK. There’s no money left in the budget! Or, to be more precise, the usual question is along the lines of:
“Can we get one of your nativities for free?” Or, “We used one of your plays ten years ago. We’ve misplaced it. Can you send us a new free copy please.” (Yes, that question genuinely gets asked so often).
One of our company directors is a headteacher herself, so the budget pressures that all of you are under, are genuinely understood. However, in the end, we are a business, not a charity, and not a library service. We still need to make a living and pay for our staff and expenses too! Therefore, this year, for the first time in five years, we were forced to raise all our prices substantially. It was clear at the time we implemented the price changes that some customers would be priced out, but we felt we had no choice. (more…)

- No more CD Roms or Instant Downloads – Our old website and old distribution network relied on old technology like CD Roms and zip downloads, all of which are being actively phased out by all the tech giants like Microsoft and Apple. Instead we’ve switched to streaming content available on any device, futureproofing our content network, with audio CDs still available as an optional extra. Read More.
- Simplified Licensing – All our publications now include a combined licence: (1) An unlimited annual performance licence. (2) A basic user licence allowing your purchased content to be shared on up to four devices. You can add more devices by ordering an extended Site Licence. (3) And a basic recording licence, allowing limited distribution of any recording of your performance for up to 50 families. You can increase this distribution limit by purchasing an extended Recording Licence.
Goodbye CD ROMs. Hello streaming! New Website On The Way!
Over the next few weeks, big changes are coming to Learn2soar Music. In a nutshell, we are phasing out all CD ROM product options, with existing digital content moving to online streaming instead.
Previously, all our products were available in one of two ways: Multipurpose CDs or Instant Downloads. But from this week, there will be just one main option for all customers: ‘Instant Online Access’. Allowing you to stream everything you need instantly, from any device. Audio CDs will still be sold as optional extras, but the Multipurpose CD option is no longer available.
What are Multipurpose CDs
Our Multipurpose CDs use ‘Enhanced CD’ technology which combines a traditional audio CD with a CD ROM, all on one disk. Put the disk in any audio CD player and it plays as a standard audio CD. Place the same disk in any computer and it works as a CD ROM, giving access to scripts, sheet music, etc.
Back in 2003, we became the first publishing company to provide our full product range in this format, ditching the old fashioned ‘book and CD’ approach. Over the years it has worked exceedingly well for us, setting us apart, and even ahead of the competition.
However, over the last 2 or 3 years many computer manufacturers have begun phasing out CD drives from new models of computers. If you look around most computer showrooms, less than half of all the models available will still have a CD/DVD drive bay. Then there’s also the problem that many customers no longer have computers in the first place, with most moving to tablets and other mobile devices instead. With this in mind, we feel it’s the right time to also phase out our Multipurpose CDs with their old-fashioned CD ROM sections, and instead move all this content to a new online streaming service. Our Ukraine Response – Learn2soar Music – March 2022
Our response to the situation in Ukraine
We are completely appalled at the unjustified, barbaric invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces. We hope and pray for a swift and peaceful resolution.
As a company, there are several areas of our business operations that we have had to re-evaluate in light of this Russian aggression towards a peaceful neighbouring country, and the unparalleled refugee crisis that Russia’s monstrous acts have created:
With Regards to our Russian Customers
Like every other UK company, we are now looking carefully at the business we do with Russia. It is true that our sales in this location have historically been a lot lower than most other nations. Just a few dozen orders over the last 20 years. Nevertheless, we still feel that for the time being, we should no longer provide goods and services to Russian customers.
Donations
We have looked back over our company’s entire history for the last two decades and calculated all the money we have ever taken from any customer located in Russia or Belarus (full turnover, not just profits) and have made a donation equal to this total towards the Ukraine refugee crisis appeal, via the Disasters Emergency Committee (dec.org.uk).
Affected Publications
Four of our publications have been affected by the war in Ukraine. We have had to re-evaluate each one and are dealing with each in slightly different ways: (more…)
