Helping Children Soar To New Heights Of Musical Excellence
Author: Stuart Ross
Stuart Ross is the managing director of Learn2soar Music and as the main composer, he is also the creative force behind most of our publications.
Stuart was told at the age of 11 by his school music teacher that he wasn't very good at music and wouldn't be able to learn an instrument! So it wasn't until after he left school at the age of 18 that he started to teach himself the guitar. He then quickly found he wasn't too bad at it and started to teach himself the piano as well! Stuart now plays about a dozen different instruments and has composed and published hundreds of songs that are in use in schools and churches around the world. He still records all the music for every Learn2soar publication, playing all the instruments himself.
Stuart is now the full time managing director of Learn2soar Limited but has also been a primary school teacher, school music advisor, church leader, and even a postman! In the past Stuart has worked on projects to compose / produce music for the Imperial War Museum North and ITV amongst others. His music has also been played on national BBC radio.
Stuart is married with two teenage children and likes to get his family involved with the writing and producing of all the Learn2soar CDs whenever possible.
Stuart really enjoys working with children and is always available to visit schools to entertain the children with his musical instruments and talk about what it means to be a composer.

In addition, several areas of our business operations continue to be slightly affected moving forwards:
‘Thank You For The Teachers’ is a school assembly song written and recorded back in 2004. But it now has a brand NEW Lyric Video, released for ThankATeacher Day 2020.
I wrote this song as a fun tribute to all the wonderful, hardworking teachers around the world 16 years ago. But now, on ThankATeacher Day 2020, it seems more relevant and appropriate than ever before. So… we have created a new lyric video and have made it available for you to use in your school for FREE. Just click on the above image to visit our YouTube channel. Furthermore, we now dedicate this song to all the school staff and pupils around the world, who have sadly lost their lives during the coronavirus pandemic.
Over the next month, schools and churches will be preparing to celebrate harvest time. So here’s a closer look at our most popular harvest title, ‘H-A-R-V-E-S-T Spells Harvest’ for ages 6-11.
H is for harvest, A is for autumn, R is for reaping… etc… This ingenious harvest time assembly resource ‘does what it says on the tin’. It includes two clever scripts and seven simple songs, as well as song sheet, sheet music, PowerPoints and more. And it’s all available on CD, or instant download. Today is Pentecost Sunday. Usually, this is one of my favourite days of the year for going to church (along with Easter Sunday and Christmas Day). You can literally feel the excitement and anticipation in the congregation, on what is one of the most joy filled services of the calendar.
But this year is very different for two reasons. Firstly, I’m stuck at home on my own, still recovering from a major operation on my left ankle, which has left me in a lot of pain. And secondly, because I’ve spent most of the night watching the news in disbelief, as a second major terrorist attack in less than two weeks has hit our country. News Update from Stuart Ross (Main Composer and Managing Director of Learn2soar Music)
Yesterday I had a 5 hour operation on my left foot to correct an issue with my heel bone. Unfortunately, the operation involved severing and then re-attaching my achilles tendon (ouch). The operation went very well and the surgeon expects me to make a full recovery, in time. However, it will be a few months before I’m able to walk unaided and I’ve been warned that complete recovery could take up to a year.
Please be assured that whilst I’m recuperating, the day-to-day operations of Learn2soar Music will continue unaffected. I have a great team of people working for me who I have great confidence in. Continue reading “Learn2soar News Update”
